Accessibility at MeowZap
MeowZap is committed to creating inclusive digital experiences for children of different abilities. Our games, classroom tools and MeowZap Care experiences are designed and developed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA in mind.
Accessibility is built into our design system and code. We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget as a substitute for accessible development. This is ongoing work: we test with keyboards, screen readers, zoom, reduced motion and touch, and we keep improving. We do not claim MeowZap is certified or fully compliant.
What we build in
Keyboard playable
Games and menus work with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape and arrow keys, with a visible focus ring and no keyboard traps.
No drag-only activities
Anywhere you can drag, you can also choose an item, then choose where it goes — with buttons and keys.
Never color alone
Right and wrong answers always come with words, icons or shapes, not just a green or pink flash.
Audio is optional
Unless listening is the lesson, every sound cue also appears as text, and sound and music can be turned off.
Reduced motion
We respect your device's reduced-motion setting and offer our own Reduce Motion switch. We avoid rapid flashing.
Untimed mode
Where timing is not the point of the activity, kids can turn off the countdown, pause or restart.
Big, easy targets
Buttons, answers and game pieces are generously sized and spaced for small hands and touchscreens.
Zoom and text resize
Pages stay usable with browser zoom and larger text, on Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, tablets and phones.
Accessibility settings
Every page has an Accessibility settings button (♿) in the header. It offers Reduce Motion, Larger Text, High Contrast, Sound on/off, Music on/off, Captions and Untimed Mode. You should never need to switch on an “accessibility mode” to use MeowZap — the default experience is built to be accessible.
